Clinic Tablet Setup

Clinic tablets are optional, but they are recommended as the smoothest way to handoff patients into our platform. Clinic tablets run the Profound Health Clinic App in single-app mode to support warm handoffs. Follow this procedure to prepare devices before launch.

Hardware & OS

• iPad (9th gen or newer) running iPadOS 17+ with 128 GB storage.
• Managed via Apple Business Manager (ABM) and assigned to the partner’s MDM (e.g., Jamf, Kandji).
• Wi-Fi with dedicated SSID reserved for clinical workflows.

Provisioning Steps

1. Assign to MDM: Import the serial number into ABM and assign it to the partner’s MDM server.
2. Install Profound Health Clinic App: MDM deploys the Expo build from the partner’s private App Store distribution.
3. Apply Managed Configuration:

4. Enable Single App Mode: Lock the device to the Clinic App during clinic hours; allow guided access passcode for staff leads.
5. Certificate Trust: Install the partner’s EHR root certificates if the app needs to embed EHR web views.

Security Controls

• Auto-lock after 2 minutes of inactivity; requires Entra MFA on unlock.
• Disable copy/paste and screen recording.
• Enforce automatic OS updates; schedule maintenance windows weekly.

Quick Verification

Use the clinic app’s diagnostics screen (Settings → Device Info) to confirm the managed configuration JSON was applied and the device is operating against the correct Supabase project.

Testing Checklist

• Launch app and sign in using a clinic service account.
• Validate warm handoff token retrieval (generate-livekit-token).
• Confirm notifications appear on the device when BHCM joins.
• Perform a warm handoff dry run using the Clinic Tablet App and run the built-in video diagnostics to confirm camera/mic permissions.

Support

If an iPad is lost or stolen, mark it lost in MDM immediately. The device will revoke access tokens and wipe on next check-in.

Document the device serial number and assigned clinic in the Partner Ops Portal for inventory tracking.
