Athena
AthenaOne exposes FHIR APIs that align closely with our Supabase schema. We authenticate via OAuth 2.0 client credentials and scope access to the partner’s practice ID.
Supported Workflows
- Retrieve patient demographics, insurance coverage, and appointments.
- Push structured care plans using
CarePlanresources when partners enable write-back. - Sync encounter documents and attach them to Profound Health case reviews.
Deployment Steps
- Partner provisions a FHIR app in the Athena developer console and shares the client ID/secret securely.
- Profound Health registers callback URLs and practice IDs in Infisical.
- A sandbox smoke test validates data flow before production cutover.
Notes
- Rate limits are per-practice; we queue bulk backfills to avoid throttling active clinics.
- Athena’s problem list endpoint occasionally omits resolved items; we cross-check via HL7 (if available) to avoid gaps.
- Insurance coverage responses drive our eligibility ledger and feed into pVerify Eligibility.
