Kareo is popular with smaller independent practices. Our integration focuses on lightweight data pulls and billing exports.

Capabilities

• Import patient lists, insurance payers, and appointment schedules daily.
• Export CoCM billing files (837P) for ingestion into Kareo’s billing module.
• Optional: sync encounter summaries as attachments.

Technical Notes

• Kareo’s API uses API keys issued per practice. Keys live in Infisical with rotation reminders every 180 days.
• Responses are paginated with numeric offsets; we process in batches to stay within rate limits.
• Billing exports rely on our internal ledger; we generate files idempotently and mark transmission status.

Operational Guidance

• Partners must enable API access in Kareo and notify their customer success rep to avoid throttling.
• We recommend a nightly reconciliation between Kareo charges and Profound Health minutes to confirm reconciliation accuracy.

Future versions will adopt Kareo’s FHIR APIs once they exit beta to reduce custom mapping.
